1020 Tyler ave, Darby Borough, 11-28-07 | | Companies were dipatched for the dwelling fire, reported to be in the bed room. P/D arrived reporting a working fire. 04-9 arrived reporting heavy fire 3rd floor of a 3 story twin. Crews lead off with an 1-3/4 water line, but were quickly turned back due to the heavy fire and extreme heat conditions. The entire 3rd floor outside, roof included, was encased in tin sheeting, which trapped the heat. Fire fighters re entered the bldg with 2 lines and made a good knock on the fire. The tin roof made for a lot of extra work. The tight street only allowed for 1 engine to get up the street, meaning all manpower with equipment had to walk at least a block and a half to get to the scene. | | PROTECTED | | | | | Copyright © Brian Feeney All pictures may be purchased by clicking on the individual picture, then scroll down the price list.
