Helluva fire, Helluva job by all on scene.Glad I'm not picking up the almost 10,000' of 5" supply line laying on the ground. One lay was approx 6000' from Cheyney & Glenn Mills into the scene, another lay was at least 2500' to a pond in the rear of the property. I don't know how long the other lay was. Water problems initially due to distance, and hydrants on campus were not nearly enough to supply the massive need for this fire. 71-2 was drafting from a pond directly behind the fire bldgs. They had 5 hard sleeves connected to the front suction for the drafting operation. Who says drafting can't be done through a front suction!? I didn't get back to the other drafting operation. Numerous master streams in service, mostly aerial devices. A couple handlines in service later on in the fire from the exterior also. The wind was a big factor also. Blowing embers and master streams where ever it wanted to. I couldn't get to the "C" "D" corner until late in the fire due to the wind and water. The ground started icing up before I left.
