Companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire. 36-9 arrived reporting heavy fire 1st floor front of a 2 story twin. Crews from 36 & 37 lead off with 1-3/4 water lines while crews from Ladder-26 vented. Interior crews made a quick knock on the fire holding it to the 1st floor. 36-9 had requested the 2nd alarm for manpower, but quickly made them available.

Companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire with entrapment. P/D arrived reporting a working fire, with the owner reporting 1 male still inside the bldg. Quint-37 took the rear and lead off with 1-3/4 water lines, making a quick knock on the bulk of the fire. Squrt-36 took the front. Truck companies opened up while search and rescue efforts were going on. All searches proved Negative and all occupants were later accounted for.

Upper Darby 9 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire Basement & 1st floor of a 2 story mor dwelling. He requested full company 26 & 74 for the 2nd alarm. All hands were in svc with numerous handlines. They had heavy fire in the basement with extension into the 1st floor. The basement stairs had burned out completely with several holes in the 1st floor. 1 victim was found several blocks away running up the street. He was transported by ems to the hospital with 2nd & 3rd degree burns.

Fireboard dispatched companies for the working bldg fire. 36-9 arrived reporting a 1 story beer distributor with heavy smoke showing. Companies went in svc with two 1-3/4 water lines and made a quick knock on the fire, preventing further spread to the roof area. A 3rd line was placed in svc from the rear, truck companies went to the roof to open up.

Unfortunately, Ganley missed this one too. The "B" Platoon is doomed!

Companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire. 20-1 arrived with fire in the kitchen extending thru the cieling into the roof area. Companies made a quick knock on the fire and opened up to extinguish fire which had extended into the void spaces.

Upper Darby Fire Department had a swearing in of 4 new Fire Fighters, and the promotions of 3 members. Congratulations to Dennis Gallagher, Keith Yashin and Bill Norris on their promotion to Captain.

Company 36 was dispatched for the van fire, to be well involved. Squrt-36 arrived and placed an 1-3/4 line in svc and made quick work on what was left of the van. It's unkonwn if the hot dogs were cooking before the fire started or not.

Fire Board dispatched for the dwelling fire, advising of numerous calls. Squrt-36 arrived reporting heavy fire blowing out the 2nd floor front of a 2 story m.o.r. dwelling. Crews from Squrt-36 lead off with an 1-3/4 which was followed up with a 2nd line. Ladder-26 took to the roof for ventilation. The fire was placed under control shortly after the 1st 20 min mark.

There was Heavy fire in the basement, 1st, & 2nd floors, with heavy fire blowing out the rear windows. 37-1 stretched an 1-3/4 to the basement from the rear, and a 2nd line was started into the 1st floor from the front. There was some extension into the party wall of the "D" exposure. Truck co's opened the roof to check for extension there. Crews worked hard and made a nice knock on all of the fire. Companies 36 & 37 on the original, with company 26 & Tower-74 for the R.I.T.

Companies got the dispatch for a dwelling fire. Ladder-36 arrived on scene reporting smoke from a 2nd floor window. On gaining entry they had heavy smoke. 2 lines were stretched in the front, with one line coming in from the rear. Heavy smoke was now pushing from all windows. Crews found the seat of the fire in the basement and made a quick knock.

Due to a major malfunction, all 1st in pictures of this fire were lost. I was right behind the 1st truck and "thought" I had some great shots, but........

Arriving companies had heavy fire inside the "A" "D" corner with extension into the cieling and roof area. The 2nd alarm was sounded. Crews stretched numerous handlines inside while truck companies took to the roof to open up. The 3rd alarm was sounded for manpower. Crews made a great stop keeping this fire from extending any further in this bldg supply lumber yard.

Companies had fire in an open storage/trash area in the back of the strip mall. Fire extended into the walls and was starting to get into the soffet along the roof. Crews had 2 lines in svc and made a quick knock and good stop to the fire. Preventing extension to any of the exposure bldgs.

37-1 arrived o/s reporting heavy smoke showing with a basement fire in a 2-1/2 story twin. They lead off with an 1-3/4 water line to the basement while truck companies started ventilation. Crews made a quick knock on the fire, with minimal extension into the 1st floor baseboards.

Companies got the dispatch for the dwelling fire with numerous calls. U/D-11 arrived reporting heavy smoke showing. Squrt-36 ran an 1-3/4 water line to the kitchen, where they had a small fire.

Companies got the dispatch for the dwelling fire. U/D-11 arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke from the 2nd floor of a 2 story mor dwelling. 37-1 took the front and Squrt-36 took the rear. Both advanced 1-3/4 water lines to the 2nd floor. Interior crews reported the 2nd floor was well off. 2 lines were in operation, while truck companies vented the roof. 1 F/F had burns to the side of his face.

Squrt-36 arrived reporting heavy smoke from a 2 story mor dwelling, leading off with 1-3/4 water line. Truck co's ventilated while interior crew knocked the bulk of fire and checked for spread. 2 lines were in operation. There was some extension to the 2nd floor thru walls & cielings.

Upper Darby-11 had fire in a basement living/bedroom. Crews stretched an 1-3/4 water line and made a quick knock on the fire.

Companies got the dispatch for the bldg fire. UD-9A Chief Hicks, arrived o/s to heavy fire from a 4th floor apt. He requested the 2nd alarm reporting he had numerous people out on balconies. Ladder companies went to work rescuing trapped tennants from 4th floor windows and balconies, while engine crews stretched line up the fire tower to the fire apt. Tower-74 took the roof and opened up. Fire got into the roof area over the apartment involved. Crews did an excellent job with all they had on their hands. The 3rd alarm was struck bringing the remaining Upper Darby apparatus to the scene for manpower. The EMS casualty box was also struck for possible injuries with the number of people trapped. 4 victims were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Companies were dispatched to, "In the area of" 310 possibly 319 North ave for the dwelling fire. 1st units arriving on scene reporting heavy fire in the attic of a 1-1/2&2 story split level SFD. 74-1 assisted by squrt-36 stretched 2 lines 2 the attic and encountered heavy fire conditions. Heavy smoke was pushing from windows, vents and the roof. Truck companies opened the roof. 3 lines were in operation.

Companies were dispatched at approx 07:30 for the bldg fire at merion Trace apts. Fireboard advised of numerous calls. 37-1 arrived reporting heavy fire from the rear confirming numerous people trapped, and out on balconies. UD-11 arrived o/s and ordered the 2nd & 3rd alarms immediately for heavy fire with entrapment. Crews advanced lines to the fire floor and made a quick knock on the fire while numerous rescues were being made via Aerial and ground ladders. Tower-74 took the roof for ventilation. medics treated numerous victims for smoke inhalation. There were 2 reported burn victims rescued from the bldg also. In all, 5 Aerial ladders along with numerous ground ladders and the tower were in svc. 2 supply lines were dropped with 3 handlines stretched into the fire bldg.

UD-9 arrived with light smoke showing from a 2 story mor dwelling. Upon entering the dwelling he was confronted with heavy smoke. On further investigation he found fire in the basement cieling. 37-1 stretched an 1-3/4 water line and made a quick knock on the fire. Crews opened up the floor and wall for extension.

U/D-9 had heavy smoke & fire pushing from the 3rd floor bedroom of a 3 story apt over a store. Crews stretched an 1-3/4 water line and knocked the fire quickly.

Station-26 was dispatched to the school for an oils spill. 26-9 arrived and found heating fuel flowing from the school at a fast rate. He had oil running down the drive way toward a sewer inlet and Lynn Blvd. 26-9 requested sta-37 to assist with any available oil dry. Companies contained the large spill & turned it over to school authorities for the clean up.

The Fire alarm for Merion Trace apts was rcvd then upgraded to a bldg dispatch. Fire Board advised of numerous calls for smoke on the 4th floor. Quint-37 arrived reporting smoke showing from the 4th floor and led off with an 1-3/4 wtr line. Fire was contained to the original apt.

Fireboard dispatched companies to 18 Berbro for the dwelling fire, advising of numerous calls. P/D arrived reporting heavy fire 1st floor of a 2 story m.o.r. dwelling with extension to both the "B" & "D" exposures, with possible entrapment. 37-1 with U/D-12A arrived confirming P/D's report and requested the 2nd alarm. First in crews stretched an 1-3/4 into the original fire dwelling knocking the bulk of visible fire. Fire had gotten into the walls and soffets and was running. Heavy fire broke out in the 2nd floor and cockloft of the "D" exposure. At this time Upper Darby 9B called for the 3rd alarm. Numerous handlines were stretched into the 3 dwellings. Fire had also gotten into the cockloft of the "B" exposure. The homeowner of the original fire dwelling was transported for observation, in good condition. 3 firefighters were transported, 2 to DCMH & 1 to H.U.P. The F/F to H.U.P. had fallen approx 6' from a ladder. The F/F's to DCMH 1 had a cieling fall on him, the other twisted a knee. All F/F's were treated and released.

Company-19 & 34 were dispatched to the 900 block of Edmunds for a car fire with exposure. Upper Darby companies were all on scene at Booner HS for the bldg fire. 20-3 responded from their station along with 19. 1 line was stretched to knock the fire. The electric meter on the back of the house was melted.

The last cpl pics are from Msgr Bonner HS. The fire was contained to the ventialtion sytem in the boys bathroom. 1 line was stretched with numerous fans for ventilation.

Companies got the dispatch for the dwelling fire at 49 Richfield just after 8pm. M-8 Lanni arrived on scene reporting heavy fire from the 3rd floor of a large 3 story twin. 37-1 advanced an 1-3/4 line to the 3rd floor with assistance from squrt-36, and made a quick knock on the fire. Ladder-36 vented the 3rd floor front while Ladder-20 took the rear and opened up the roof. Tower-74 replaced ladder-20 as the R.I.T. Fire is under investigation by Upper Darby Fire Marshall M-8 Dan Lanni. UD-9 Ed Cubler had command.

Companies 26 & 37 got the dispatch for the dwelling fire at 12 S. Linden. 26-1 arrived o/s reporting medium smoke showing. Crews had a kitchen fire on the 1st floor rear of the 3 story sfd converted to apartments. UD-9D called for 36 for manpower & Tower-74 for the r.i.t. 1st in crew made a quick knock on the fire, holding it to the kitchen.

Companies were dipatched to the area for a possible dwelling fire. UD-9A arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke from 2 dwellings. UD-9 arrived in the rear reporting heavy fire in the garage of 2355. Companies lead off with an 1-3/4 wtr line and made a quick knock on the fire. There was minimal extension into the walls, with smoke in the 2 exposures. Medics rescued a kitten and some other animals from the home.

Company-26 & 37 were dispatched to 8520 Monroe for the possible bldg fire. They found a medium smoke condition in the basement of 8518 but were unable to find the source. Smoke was coming from the soffets and eaves all around the large 3 story twin house. A fire in the basement was found and extinguished.

Companies arrived to heavy fire blowing out the 1st floor rear of a 2 story m.o.r. dwelling. Crews made entry thru the front and advanced to the rear. A good knock was put on the fire with 2 lines in operation. A 3rd line was in the rear. 1 F/F received burns but is doing ok. Fire under investigation by Fire Marshall Dan Lanni.

A worker was pinned in his Bob Cat by Corrugated steel and angle iron. Crews from rescue-26 & 20 worked to free the trapped worker using some of the heavy machinery at the construction site along with rescue tools. The worker was transported to H.U.P. by Medic-103-7 as a truama alert with serios leg injuries.

37 & 36 were dispatched to Brownies pub for smoke in the bldg. On arrival they had a medium smoke condition from an unk source. After investigating they found trash in the duct work to be burning.

Companies 36 & 37 were dispatched IFO 41 South Union ave for the unk yellow liquid in the street. Fire company was on scene for approx 3 hrs. Crews dyked up the storm sewers to prevent the liquid from entering the sytem. With the mixture of the rain water and the yellow liquid, the hazmat team recovered approx 700 gallons. The yellow liquid was determined to be something used in the mixture of paint.

Companies had rubbish up against the back wall with extension into the roof area. Crews opened up from inside & out. 1 Juvenile suspect was taken into custody by UDPD.

Station-36 responded to this car fire during another one of many lightning storms in the area lately. The engine compartment was fully involved.

Companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire with possible entrapment. Heavy fire from the 2nd floor was evident on arrival. The 2nd alarm was called for but sent to cover stations after the quick knock. The child reported trapped was found in a house next door. 1 firefighter suffered a minor knee injury.
