3 Alarms, 18 Berbro   RSS
Fireboard dispatched companies to 18 Berbro for the dwelling fire, advising of numerous calls. P/D arrived reporting heavy fire 1st floor of a 2 story m.o.r. dwelling with extension to both the "B" & "D" exposures, with possible entrapment. 37-1 with U/D-12A arrived confirming P/D's report and requested the 2nd alarm. First in crews stretched an 1-3/4 into the original fire dwelling knocking the bulk of visible fire. Fire had gotten into the walls and soffets and was running. Heavy fire broke out in the 2nd floor and cockloft of the "D" exposure. At this time Upper Darby 9B called for the 3rd alarm. Numerous handlines were stretched into the 3 dwellings. Fire had also gotten into the cockloft of the "B" exposure. The homeowner of the original fire dwelling was transported for observation, in good condition. 3 firefighters were transported, 2 to DCMH & 1 to H.U.P. The F/F to H.U.P. had fallen approx 6' from a ladder. The F/F's to DCMH 1 had a cieling fall on him, the other twisted a knee. All F/F's were treated and released.

Is the firefighter ok? He and his family and fellow F/F are in my prayers!!!

Yes he is, Thank you. He(my son) fell approx 6' from the ladder he is now under. It was an ugly fall, but turned out not as bad as it looked like it could have been. He will prob need surgery on some torn ligaments in the shoulder. 3 other F/F's were injured and also treated and released on this fire.
